Adjudicator:
Nicola Pearce
Nicola Pearce has a background of over 30 years’ experience in marketing and commercial management for businesses working across prescription and OTC medicines as well as dietary supplements.
As a former client of TAPS she understands the value pre-vetting brings to brand owners to navigate both regulations and the ASA’s advertising codes to ensure your commercial messages meet the standards of both.
Nicola is passionate about continuing TAPS contribution to underpin responsible self-regulation of therapeutic and health advertising and enjoys working with clients in a solution oriented, collaborative approach.
Outside of work Nicola enjoys renovating and refurbishing retro caravans, producing various craftworks and relaxing with her wonderful large extended family and circle of friends.

Peter Pratt
Raised on a farm in the Manawatu Peter is a Pharmacist who has worked in both Retail Pharmacy and Medicines Control. After 10 years as Compliance Team Leader at the Ministry of Health, where among many other roles he assisted ANZA and the ASA in the development of the TAPS self-regulatory system, he became a TAPS adjudicator in 2003 and is still enjoying this role today.
Peter is passionate about his role in supporting responsible self-regulation of therapeutic advertising and assisting advertisers to accept their responsibilities and produce Compliant advertising. After reviewing more than 30,000 advertisements he maintains his enthusiasm for the sector and enjoys supporting people in the industry to grow in knowledge and skills and then watch them take that knowledge to other parts of the industry.
Peter’s interests include gardening, cooking and live theatre and he has acted in and directed many plays over the years.

Maureen
Roberts
Maureen has been a vital member of the TAPS Adjudicator team since 2016.
A qualified Biochemist, Maureen first entered the pharmaceutical industry in a sales role before moving into regulatory affairs and clinical research where she held several senior roles in major multi-national pharma companies.
She then established her own regulatory consultancy business in 2004 which extended her expertise into medical devices and dietary supplements. With review of promotional material so often an important part of the regulatory function within company’s, this nicely segued into joining ANZA and becoming a TAPS Adjudicator.
Adjudicator:
Hamish Butler-Gallie
Hamish brings extensive experience in the healthcare and pharmaceuticals industry. He studied pharmacy in the UK and working in clinical pharmacy before coming to New Zealand. He worked for a major Swiss pharmaceutical company both in New Zealand and overseas as well as a stint at head office in Switzerland.
Returning to New Zealand, he set up a very successful healthcare advertising agency working not just with major pharmaceutical brand but a leading baby food brand, dietary supplements and crop protection products. During the COVID pandemic, Hamish joined the TAPS teams as an Adjudicator.
